she sells sea shells at the sea shore

While on our cruise TSO, RugbyGirl (our roommate in Avalon) and I came up with a few photo assignments. I was hoping that by sharing these assignments we could all ressurect this blog. The first theme I actually got pictures of were seashells. These are mine:

These pictures (up and down) were taken outside a tourist shop in Nassau, Bahamas. Shells for sale.

This is an old conch (pronounced "konk" shell) found on the shore, Nassau, Bahamas.

sufficient reasons for going

"When I was very young and the urge to be someplace else was on me," he begins, "I was assured by mature people that maturity would cure this itch...When the virus of restlessness begins to take possesion of a wayward man, and the road away from Here seems broad and straight and sweet, the victim must first find in himself a good and sufficient reason for going..." ~Travels with Charlie, John Steinbeck

Can we get this picture blog going again? Please? TSO, Mummy Dearest and I are surrounded by lovely Bershire scenery. Kim, take pics of Detroit falling apart! Tizzy and Esquire take photos of NYCity in all its glory. Starpilgrim, Scotland--photos please!!
So, to ressurect, let's start with something simple: roads that lead somewhere.

defibrillator

Hello?

I am sitting across from TSO and just suggested axing this blog since it has been lying dormant.

In hopes to keep this going, I would like to suggest a new assignment. Transportation.

Any takers?

The Picture Show

I already posted this on my blog, but wanted to share it here too, as the focus is on photography!

Also, we are all falling by the wayside...come back...post pics...I want to see where everyone is in life!!

I heart NPR. I love their articles, their movie and music reviews and The Picture Show, where they highlight different collections of pictures. Found so many good shots, wanted to share them all!

snow swallowed bridge

This is a really cool bike/walking-path bridge not far from where I did my Undergrad in Rochester, MI.
Unfortunately, I was not brave enough to face the freezing temps to climb down this incline to take an upclose picture--though some people were, apparent by the footprints going down in the snow!--but I thought that the pics taken from the top look cool. As though the bridge is being swallowed up by snow. I love the cars zooming by in the second picture.

Also, time for a new assignment? I have a random one...what about dinosaurs? Ha ha ha...could be amusing...thoughts?

Window... yes, i'm late on this

Views out my back window before I headed off for work yesterday... I miss the sunrises on the farm! It is nice that the sun is coming up earlier... it is hard to wake up in the dark!

Hey, Kim. Think it's time for your flashy new idea?
